Whether it’s a wedding reception, company picnic, Christmas party, birthday party or family reunion, the Gillespie County Fairgrounds is a unique facility that can handle large or small groups comfortably.   Located 2 miles from Fredericksburg’s Main Street, the fairgrounds is close to many great attractions and activities to make your guest’s stay a success.

Fredericksburg is famous for its many fine bed and breakfast accommodations.  There are also several motels available.  At Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park (just down the street), you will find golfing, tennis, and picnic areas.  Antique stores and boutiques line Fredericksburg’s Main Street.  Local restaurants serve a variety of foods including traditional German menus.

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is ideal for hiking, backpacking, nature study and picnics.  There are numerous Texas wine vineyards that offer tasting rooms and tours.  LBJ State and National Parks are about 17 miles east on Highway 290 and make a great day trip.  Pedernales Falls State Park is located out Highway 290 just past Johnson City and spreads across 5,200 acres. 

Even if you are not a ‘museum person’ you’ll enjoy Fredericksburg’s fine museums.  The Pioneer Museum Complex showcases superb examples of early German structures and artifacts.  The Vereins Kirsche, located in Marketplatz is a reproduction of Fredericksburg’s German founder’s original community church and gathering place.  The National Museum of the Pacific War (The Nimitz Museum) is dedicated to everyone who served in the Pacific War. The George Bush Gallery of the Pacific War, the Plaza of the Presidents and the History Walk of the Pacific War are all part of the Park.

Rental Policies
• All deposits are due upon the execution of the Contract.
• Deposits are non-refundable if the Lessee cancels event less than
   six weeks from event.
• Lessee must hire security guards from the Fairgrounds security contractor.
• Lessee must furnish a diagram or meet in person at least seven (7) days
   prior to event for layout of tables and chairs.
• Lessee must furnish a Certificate of Comprehensive General Liability Insurance with single limits of One Million ($1,000,000) Dollars.  Insurance may be purchased through the Fairgrounds insurance carrier.  (Prices vary depending upon the number of people expected to attend).  Insurance must be secured fourteen days before the event.
